Christmas Events In The Quarter

It’s that time of year again and there’s loads going on so we’ve done a round-up of some local events to get you right into the Christmas spirit …

Marylebone Christmas Lights
18 November, 15.30 – 18.30
Marylebone High Street
A wonderful, village event organised by The Howard de Walden Estate, with live music and performances on the main stage, Father Christmas, real reindeer, street stalls and entertainers, snow, fireworks, market and tombola – it’s little wonder that the event pulls the crowds. The event will support Age UK Westminster.

Chiltern Street Christmas Shopping

Chiltern Street
Kick start Christmas in style with an evening of free festive drinks and food, fabulous Christmas shopping, live music on the street, free Christmas wreath-making workshop and special offers. Get there early as freebies, vouchers and wreaths are on a first come first served basis.

Oliver Wyman Christmas Market

Enjoy the beautiful candlelit setting of St Marylebone Parish Church where celebrities Vanessa Redgrave, Penelope Wilton, Ben Aldridge and Anita Dobson will share their favourite Christmas readings, alongside everyone’s favourite carols and musical performances with wine and mince pies after the service. Santa On The Run
6 December
Victoria Park
West London Day Centre (WLDC) has 25 places to fill in London’s biggest Santa Run. Join them for some fun, spread festive cheer and help raise money for their advice service. Run, jog, walk or Strictly Samba either 5km or 10km plus there’s a children’s run. Why not organise a team at work, get some friends together or get the family involved? WLDC suggests each runner aims to raise £150.

St John’s Hospice Christmas Fayres
6 December, 11.00 – 18.00, St John’s Wood High Street
12 & 13 December, 11.00 – 18.00, Paddington Recreational Ground
Pop along to one of St John’s Hospice’s fantastic Christmas Fayres and help raise vitals funds for local families. Join them on 6 December at St John’s Wood High Street for fairground rides, stallholders selling gifts and festive food, Peppa Pig, Donkey Rides and Santa’s Grotto. More on this event. Then on 12 & 13 December head to Paddington Recreational Ground for more festive stalls, fairground rides and a chance for the children to meet Santa. Entry is FREE at both events.

Get merry at our Christmas Market! The outdoor atrium of 55 Baker Street will be buzzing with traders serving up gorgeous street food and delicious sweet treats, as well as quirky and unique Christmassy gift ideas. Oh, and the mulled wine will be a-flowing so don’t miss it!

Manchester Square & Garden Christmas Carols
14 December, 17.30
A choir of singers from the Philharmonia Chorus, London Welsh Chorale, Hampstead Chamber Choir and Royal Academy of Music graduates will perform Christmas carols, starting at 17.30, progressing around Manchester Square and entering Manchester Square Garden at approximately 18.30, where they will continue until 19.30 around the Christmas tree. This is a free event in aid of the Brain Tumour Research Campaign and fundraisers will accompany the choir. Seasonal refreshments will be available in the Garden, which will be open to everyone not just key-holders.

St Mungo’s Broadway Carol Concert
16 December, 18.00 for a prompt 18.30 start
St Marylebone Parish Church, NW1 5LT
Enjoy much-loved carols, singing from the choir, a reading from supporters including British actress Emilia Fox, stories from clients and staff, and a reception after the concert with canapés and fizz in the Church Crypt. St Mungo’s kindly suggest a voluntary donation of £30 for the carol concert and £60 to include the drinks reception.
