    ACT Awareness, 21 Mar 09:00

    Supporting the Government’s ‘Action Counters Terrorism’ campaign, ACT Awareness (formally known as Project Griffin), has been produced by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office to protect cities and communities from the threat of terrorism.

    ACT Awareness encourages communities to work together with Police in order to detect and deter terrorist activity. It aims to give everyone the confidence to recognise and report suspicious behaviour and guidance of how to respond to the most likely types of terrorist activities. ACT Awareness is aimed at all levels of staff but is particularly relevant to those in front of house and security roles.

    Many people have heard the statistic that 1 in 4 adults experience mental health issues in their lifetime, but very few people know what good mental health really looks like or how can we incorporate it into our daily lives. This interactive workshop demystifies mental health and gives an insight into the difference between mental illness and mental fitness (resilience).

    We will be exploring the impact of mental health in the workplace on productivity, relationships and physical health and sharing practical skills you can use to identify triggers and symptoms of low mental health and mental illness. The session will be packed with tools and tips to help build your confidence to step in and offer support, build and sustain positive mental health for enhanced well-being and resilience in all areas of your life and discussing ideas on how we can all challenge stigma around mental health to promote diversity and inclusion.

    This three day course is an essential qualification to give supervisors, managers and heads of department the knowledge they need to effectively manage health and safety in the workplace. The hands on, jargon-free format will engage and improve company-wide safety awareness and appreciation for safety measures. Delivered by the British Safety Council, accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). No pre-requisites or prior health and safety knowledge is required. On completion you’ll be awarded an IOSH Managing safely certificate.
