Area Management
Our street management activities ensure the Quarter is safe, clean and well-looked after.
Street Management
Our Street Team operate across the whole Baker Street Quarter area, Monday-Friday 7.00-22.00, and on Saturdays and Sundays 10.00-20.00. The Team provides street safety reassurance and a deterrent to anti-social behaviour and crime, acting as the eyes and ears for the Police and Council, gathering evidence to support their work to enforce against those causing problems.
The Team also monitor the street environment, reporting and following-up on matters such as potholes, broken street lighting, litter and fly tipping, working with the Council as well as our Smarter Recycling waste collection service and our cleansing provision. The reporting system used by the team links to our baseline agreement with Westminster City Council – our legal agreement that sets out the minimum service standards to be delivered by the Council – and maps the area’s hotspots to ensure we target our actions effectively.
Outreach
The Street Team works closely with our outreach service, The Passage, who offer support to those sleeping rough and ensure that they are able to access the help and resources that they need.
Communications Network
Our network facilitates swift communication between our Street Team and security teams at businesses across the Quarter, sharing real-time information on matters of concern to create an effective and invaluable network across the area and collating intelligence to inform the Police and Council. This network is further enhanced by regular interactions and intelligence sharing between neighbouring street safety teams and regular meetings with the local Police and the Council. Additional Cleaning
We fund regular street and pavement cleansing, in addition to that provided the Council, to tackle problem areas and grot spots. If you notice an area that you think could do with a bit of a scrub, let us know here.
