Mental Health and Wellbeing

All our wellbeing programmes are online for the time being so they can be accessed anytime whether your working from home or back in the office. We’ve been working in collaboration with our local partners to bring you free workshops in mindfulness, dance, posture, health and social activities such as our pub quiz and ‘walks’.

We’ve also been gathering some top tips and online resources for you to use including advice on mental health and the best of our local businesses’ online activities including free exercise classes and access to great recipes.

    Knight Frank * – How do you work from home? Knight Frank Strategic Consulting on Baker Street, whose team of consultants offer strategic help to office occupiers and landlords, invite you to take part in a short survey to help us all understand the effects of the huge change many of us are facing as whole businesses work from home on a prolonged basis.

    Even for those who are used to doing a significant part of their job remotely, we are all newly discovering the joys, challenges and unexpected pitfalls of working from home whether that be alone, alongside family, flatmates or even furry friends 24/7.

    The results of the ten-minute survey, which will be shared with you all in a few weeks’ time, will help us understand how you feel working from home is affecting you, your ability to get your work done, sense of connection to others, as well as the more practical aspects of uprooting the workplace to your home space.     Whilst you work from home you can top up your skills online with the following courses:

    Mental Health First Aid – Three Day Course 14, 15 and 16 September

    Led by a MHFA England certified trainer, this three day online course qualifies you to be a mental health first aider. You will gain an understanding of common mental health illnesses, be given the confidence to promote mental health awareness and the ability to spot signs of mental ill health. This course is suitable for those who want to gain a greater awareness of workplace mental health, to detect early symptoms of common mental health illnesses and gain the skills to support your own and others well-being.

    Breakdown of course times:

    DAY 1 – 9.00 – 10:45 live session 1, followed by home-learning in the afternoon
    DAY 2 – 9.00 – 11:30 live session 2, followed by home-learning in the afternoon
    DAY 3 – 9 – 11 live session 3, followed by home-learning.
    DAY 3 – 2 – 16:00 live session 4 (finish)
    This course is delivered by the quality assured Siren Training and accredited certificates are issued once the course is successfully completed.

    ACT Awareness e-Learning Guidance

    The insight gained from this interactive ACT Awareness e-Learning course will benefit all employees, and would ideally be used as part of a new employee staff induction. Starting with an introduction to terrorism, the course then covers guidance to help employees identify and respond to security vulnerabilities, suspicious behaviour, bomb threats and weapons attack.     Free 12 Week Course: Improving Workplace Cyber Security

    We are working with the Police Security Digital Centre (PDSC) in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police to deliver a free 12-week course supporting your business to enhance it’s cyber security. Addressing this issue during the current situation would be beneficial to any company as so many of us are working from home.

    First Aid Refresher Course 

    St Johns Ambulance are offering existing first aiders free access to its e-learning Annual refresher course.

    If you are a first aiders, this course will keep you on top of your first aid skills. The interactive modules refresh knowledge of the five key life saving techniques:
    • Chest pains
    • Choking
    • Severe bleeding
    • Recovery position
    • Basic life support & AED (CPR)

    A certificate of completion will be available to download once all five modules are finished.

    Please note the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced a 12-week extension to all First aid at work and Emergency first aid at Work certificates that would have expired after 16 March.
