A Vigilant Quarter

In line with our work to keep a vigilant Quarter, we’re proud to be supporting Counter Terrorism Policing’s vigilance campaign. With more people returning to the Quarter, and central London, every day, we encourage staff and visitors to help keep our area safe by reporting suspicious behaviour and activity.

Over the last year, you might not have visited central London as often as you’re used to, and while terrorist attacks are thankfully very rare it’s important that we all play our role. You can use gov.uk/ACT to report online, in confidence, and learn more about the signs to spot. We also encourage businesses to risk assess existing sites along with any new premises, such as outdoor areas, and have staff sign up to and complete ACT e-learning training, which is available here.

Here at Baker Street Quarter, we work year-round with Project Servator, which makes regular visits to the Quarter and Marylebone. Project Servator is a police partnership to deter, detect and disrupt hostile reconnaissance (collection of information by those planning hostile activity) by terrorists and other criminals while providing a reassuring presence. We also trained 40 people from 20 businesses in responding to a major incident at our annual Major Incident Tabletop Exercise earlier this year, while our Incident Alert app keeps you alerted of real-time developments in major incidents in the area as they unfold, as well as notifying you in advance of planned events such as protests.
