A welcome reopening of the Quarter’s hospitality

The much-anticipated reopening of pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes and hairdressers in the Quarter took place on Saturday with businesses in the area opening their doors once more to happy customers. Before the reopening we saw a hive of activity in the Quarter as businesses prepared to reopen with new safety and social distancing measures in place.

As businesses have been remodelling their premises and operations, we’ve been working with them to support their reopening, providing free of charge on-street queue markers, sharing advice and liaising with Westminster City Council and The Portman Estate to advocate for extra outdoor space for tables and chairs, providing essential extra capacity so that they can successfully trade whilst maintaining necessary social distancing. Meanwhile outside we have been continuing to ensure the streets remain clean and safe, you can find out more here.

We’ve spoken to some of the Quarter’s businesses about how they have adapted their premises and procedures with your safety in mind (please check businesses’s websites for more detailed opening information):

Grazing Goat – have introduced a contactless payment app and created this great video which explains the changes they’ve made to welcome you back

Home House and Home Grown – have produced a journey for your return highlighting the key amendments they’ve made to make you feel comfortable and safe

Carousel – has created  a ‘same but different’ dining  experience with input from a  customer survey alongside the latest government advice and learnings from the hospitality industry overseas

Holmes Hotel and Kitchen at Holmes – with safety and wellbeing being the priority, they have developed a Reassuring Moments programme

Z Hotels – Has made adjustments to it’s services include enhanced cleaning, contactless check in and staff training for a safe and secure visit

Daniel Galvin – whilst maintaining the great experience of going to their salon, Daniel Galvin have published a full risk assessment and a breakdown of their new procedures

These are just a few examples of how thorough the Quarter’s hospitality sector’s response is to your return.

The restaurants and cafés of the Quarter are crucial to the area’s vibrancy and amenity. Whilst the government’s advice is to  work from home and only travel when necessary it will be challenging for them, so they need your support whenever possible. Be it lunches for your team or purchasing vouchers for use at a later date. Many continue to offer takeaways and deliveries you can find out more about by visiting our Shop the Quarter Directory.
