Working From Home: Wellbeing Online Training and Activities

Results from our annual survey earlier in the year showed us that local businesses consider their employees’ mental health and wellbeing as a core priority, never more so than now, as we all learn to navigate the current situation. With many working from home, staying positive and motivated is key to staying healthy.

That’s why we’ve developed an extended programme of enjoyable and informative free online health and wellbeing activities and virtual workshops coming up over the next few months to boost wellbeing and maintain a much-needed connection to Baker Street Quarter and its community.

Book and find out about all the wellbeing activities we have coming up here

Many employers in the area are implementing a range of measures and guidance to support their staff through the winter days by offering a range of activities to improve mental health. The Portman Estate, for example, are encouraging their employees to leave their desks for a flexible lunchbreak to ensure their team has a healthy dose of fresh air and daylight. They have also added the motivation of launching a daily step count challenge with prizes! If your business is introducing similar activities, do let us know so that we can share and inspire others.

You can further build your connection to the area and to help boost your own wellbeing, by giving support to one of the many charities and community organisations working with vulnerable individuals and families in need in the local area. We have two appeals taking place in the lead up to Christmas – ‘Adopt A Nursery’ encourages you and your colleagues to buy new toys for children who might otherwise go without, and ‘Adopt A Family’ enables you to donate a food hamper for a family via the local food bank. On our Local Giving page you can also find many ways that you can help local charities virtually including careers advice, befriending and reading to children. In addition to this, Westminster City Council and charities such as St Mungo’s and West London Mission are working hard to help those that are homeless and sleeping on the streets. You can find out more about their work here
