Call For Volunteers: Doorstep Library

Doorstep Library, a London reading charity, has put out a call for volunteers to help bring the magic of reading directly into the homes of families living in disadvantaged areas in and close to the Quarter via online reading sessions.

Volunteers will work in pairs to spend two hours a week on a set day, from 4.30pm – 6.30pm, reading with three families over Zoom. Volunteers will need to enjoy spending time with children, have comfortable fluency in English, and be excellent communicators, friendly and confident to build a relationship with families.

If you’re interested in finding out more about the Online Reading Volunteer roles please contact smartergiving@bakerstreetq.co.uk. Volunteers must be over 18 years old, available for two hours per week and for a minimum 6-month commitment to help them build a relationship with their family.
