Help Us To Improve Marylebone Road Subway

We’ve been working on improving the subway under Marylebone Road which is currently a concern to our members and local residents.

We want to invest more substantially to create an attractive space for everyone to use as an alternative to the polluted overground crossing. Before we can commit funds to this we are working with TfL to tackle mis-use and anti-social behaviour by gating the subway overnight. The subway suffers from mis-use and anti-social behaviour (this is largely not associated with those sleeping rough). Currently, we provide extra cleaning of the subway and our Ambassadors monitor it daily, reporting any problems and working with the local outreach teams who assist members of the street population.

TfL have agreed to move ahead with this and are holding a consultation to confirm that local people are happy with the proposal. If you would like to see changes in the subway, support us by completing a short survey on the consultation here.
