Help West London Mission

This local charity that has been transforming the lives of society’s most vulnerable for more than a century needs your support. West London Mission (WLM) has been improving the lives of a diverse range of people for more than 130 years.

Its projects include homeless shelters, low cost housing for key workers, a care home for men managing chronic alcoholism, a counselling centre and community hub, supported housing for ex-service personnel, and an approved premises for offenders transitioning from custody into the community.

WLM complements its housing projects with courses, workshops and advice sessions to empower its clients to meet life’s challenges.

The increased health and safety requirements of the last few months have been demanding for WLM as it strives to maintain service levels for already vulnerable clients, many of whom have existing health conditions or are coping with trauma and anxiety.

WLM needs your help in these challenging times so it can continue to provide high quality services. The charity like many others, has had to use grants planned for future use and their reserves to enable them to adapt their services, to help those that have been made more vulnerable by lockdown.

The Portman Estate and Derwent London have given financial support and The Hyatt Regency – The Churchill donated equipment and resources to WLM. Perhaps you can help by setting up your own 2.6 fundraising challenge? Can you and your colleagues dream up an activity that suits your skills around the number 2.6 or 26. It could be a creative challenge, culinary feast, artistic performance or an online fitness workout or exercise programme. You can find inspiration for your 2.6 Challenge hereDon’t forget to let us know what you do as we’d love to feature you in our newsletter!

Or donate by simply giving online. Just £30 could pay for emergency food vouchers for a homeless service user while £60 would fund PPE kit for a staff member. Help WLM continue its vital work and make a long-term positive impact.
