Helping Tackle Theft Within Our Quarter

All of this week (12-18 August), British Transport Officers will be at Baker Street tube station as part of a wider drive, Operation Farrier, which aims to tackle theft across London. The objective of the operation  is to deter would-be pickpockets and thieves from targeting users of the London Underground – something which has seen a recent increase.

Officers will be on hand to offer the public simple, practical advice to help prevent them from becoming victims of theft. Our own Street Safety Team will be working alongside the officers from the British Transport Police, Metropolitan Police and the council to provide help and advice throughout the week.

The operation will use both uniformed and plain clothed officers, including those with specialist skills in spotting pickpockets and other criminal behaviour.

If you see the officers this week, do take the opportunity to stop and ask them about any concerns you have or any questions. They will also be able to provide you with information on theft tactics which you may not previously have known about.

Find out more about theft tactics and watch informative videos from the British Transport Police.
