In Tribute to Debbie Gurney

We’re sad to announce that our Street Team Manager Debbie Gurney died of cancer on 18 February after a short period of illness. Many of you will be familiar with Debbie who you would have seen in our yellow and black patrolling the streets with the Street Team Al, Sam, Ram, James and Lee. Always with a smile and good humour but absolutely calm, professional and tough when she needed to be. Her approach to the area’s most vulnerable was second to none and she cared about this aspect of her work passionately. The Street Team adored her and respected her in equal measure as she managed and mentored them.

We will all miss her at BakerStreetQ and we know that everyone that she met whilst working in the area will miss her too.

Our thoughts are with Debbie’s partner Gary, children Caron and Joe and grand daughter. BakerStreetQ attended a celebration of Debbie’s life on Tuesday 8 March.  Those wishing to make donations in memory of Debbie can do so to Meadow House Hospice at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/caron-bibby
