Join Our NEW Guided Walk – The Hidden History of Tyburn Gallows

Join our FREE 45-minute guided walk this Wednesday and explore Tyburn – the notorious site of public executions (often a celebrated day out!) for over a 100 years. Named after Tyburn Brook, a tributary of the River Westbourne, Tyburn village was one of two manors of the parish of Marylebone, the current location of which is Marble Arch and the southern end of Edgware Road.

Our knowledgeable guide, Tina, will enthral you with stories of the condemned, such as petty thief, Jack Sheppard, and learn about the customs and traditions beheld by prisoners who were to make their long and final journey from Newgate Prison to the Tyburn Tree – gallows, which were large enough to execute several people simultaneously.

To find out if Jack managed to escape from prison and defy the gallows, meet Tina at 1pm outside 55 Baker Street for a breath of fresh air and blinding tale or two…
