Lateral Flow Testing Available

We’re pleased to let you know that Covid-19 lateral flow testing is available for employees that cannot work from home. Businesses that employ over 50 people and are registered in England can request these tests for free via the Government’s website.

Lateral flow testing is a fast and simple way to test people who do not have symptoms of Covid-19 but may still be spreading the virus, with results given in 30 minutes. Around 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 do not have symptoms, so this is an important tool to help stop the spread of Covid-19 in the Quarter and further afield.

Covid-19 lateral flow tests used in a household can simply be thrown away as general waste, but please do not throw them away as recycling. However for tests that are used in a business or organisational setting, the rules on disposal are different. If you set up a rapid testing site at a business premises please make sure you speak to Westminster City Council about how LFT waste will be managed.
