Emma Pretty has joined our team here at BakerStreetQ as Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator. Having previously worked at Visit London, Emma will be delivering communications to our audiences, and assisting with marketing, events and stakeholder management. Q. What experience do you bring to the role of Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator?

I have a real mix of marketing, communications and brand experience from a variety of roles. I previously worked at Visit London / London & Partners, so I gained lots of experience in destination marketing, collaborating with members and engaging with stakeholders during my time there. Now I can bring my skills and London knowledge to focus on the Marylebone area.

Q.  What were your highlights from your time at Visit London?

I loved being part of the activities for the London 2012 Olympics, the buzz of the city was unforgettable! Everyone came together to host an amazing event showing off the best of our city. I also enjoyed working on some really creative marketing campaigns, holding business events in diverse venues, working with such a range of people, and experiencing all the unique culture and sights of London.

Q. What are you most looking forward to working at BakerStreetQ?

This is a really exciting new challenge for me, and I will enjoy the focus of promoting such an attractive, lively and stylish area. Marylebone has a great profile and reputation as a destination for enjoyment and a lovely place to work and live. We are planning events and campaigns to invite everyone to come and explore the interesting attractions, amazing restaurant scene and eclectic range of shops. I’m also looking forward to working on the area identity and engaging with our audiences through different communication channels.

Q. What is your favourite place in the Baker Street and Marylebone area?

I love the tranquil green spaces of the area, contrasting with the lively atmosphere of the independent shops and restaurants. I also like exploring the streets and historic squares, and how you can always discover something new as you turn a corner.

Q. Who is the most famous Londoner you have met or worked with?

In my previous office there was a TV studio, so I did share the lift with Charlie Brooker of TV’s Screenwipe once! And Radio 1Xtra’s Trevor Nelson and Darren Chapman were DJs at a work event so I had a chat with them after.

Q. What are you listening to at the moment?

‘You Got The Love’ often comes on the radio and it always brings back good memories. Whether it’s the Candi Staton original or Florence and the Machine cover, I love their powerful voices and lyrics.
