Sightsee Crowd Free – Enjoy The Quarter

Come and visit the Quarter and see it as you’ve never seen it before. You can safely enjoy the best that the Quarter and surrounding area has to offer with the benefit of quieter streets. Not returned to the workplace yet? This is a perfect opportunity to pop in and remind yourself of what you have been missing!

You can expect:

  • Minimal queues at most major attractions including Madame Tussauds (although pre booking is essential)
  • Low levels of traffic
  • Lots of extra pavement space
  • New cycle paths from transport hubs
  • New alfresco dining at many restaurants and cafes including the transformation of New Quebec Street and Seymour Place into outdoor dinning space Wednesday to Sunday

The wonderful Madame Tussauds, Wallace Collection, Everyman Cinema and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre are now open to visitors. It’s a fabulous opportunity to enjoy these amazing venues whilst they are quieter and also to support them during this period. They have all worked hard to implement new safety measures whilst still ensuring a great day out. Do visit their websites in advance to find out more and to check opening hours and booking requirements.

Whilst you are visiting, many of the Quarter’s fabulous restaurants and cafes are taking part in the Eat Out To Take Out scheme offering 50% off your bill and you can enjoy your food outside in the many new alfresco spaces. Find out which restaurants are participating in the scheme and where you can enjoy your food outside by visiting our Shop the Quarter directory. Don’t forget to check individual businesses websites before you come along so you know whether you need to book.

When you are planning your visit you can be assured that public transport is running at normal levels with additional vigorous cleaning regimes to keep people safe. You can plan your journey via National Rail  and Transport for London. Or why not explore the area via foot and bike? You can find out more about how to do this through their new app. We have been working with our partners to open up more space for walking and cycling plus new temporary cycle racks in the area.

We have also been working with Westminster City Council’s cleansing team and key partner, Veolia to deep clean and ensure anti-bacterial cleansing has been conducted throughout the area. And it’s business as usual for our Street Environment Manager and our Street Safety Team, with their presence in the area ensuring our streets are clean, tidy, well maintained and safe.

The #SightseeCrowdFree campaign is an initiative by Westminster City Council to welcome visitors back to the area and to support the area’s wonderful attractions and restaurants during this period.
