St Marylebone School Completes Sixth Form Roof Terrace

Following successful fundraising efforts and an application for Marylebone Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, the roof terrace at The St Marylebone School sixth form centre in Blandford Street has been transformed into a much-needed green outdoor space, planted with wildflowers and herbs and providing views of the surrounding area. The space will be used for curriculum-based learning – where students can grow their own produce – as well as a prayer garden and relaxation area.

Our CEO Penny Alexander represents Baker Street Quarter members on the Marylebone Forum, the organisation responsible for encouraging, considering and approving applications to the Westminster Neighbourhood CIL fund in Marylebone. The fund is formed from a levy on developers and is designed to be used to offset demands of development within the local area by supporting community infrastructure projects. For more information on Neighbourhood CIL, previous projects that have been supported or if you know of a community project that you think could benefit by applying, visit the Forum website.
