Take Part In Our Poll For Potential New Public Artwork

Our poll is now closed, thank you for your feedback and suggestions.

We’d love your feedback on a mural we’re proposing for a wall in George’s Park. We’ve put together this short poll where you can view each design and leave your comments. We’re asking for your top two choices. We’ll also be in George’s Park on 22 February 12.00 to 14.30 to talk through the designs, which you can see here.

Last month we held online Sketch and Chat workshops with artist Alice Roche Barton to help us to shape a potential new public artwork for Marylebone. Some of you may have already visited our green oasis, George’s Park on George Street, a pleasant space to relax in all year round and would have seen some of our recent programme of improvements  which included new and extended planting. We would like to enhance the atmosphere and vibrancy of the space further by adding a botanical mural to a very bare wall that runs alongside the park which will help to bring this small pocket park to life. The mural will be in keeping with the area and reflect flora and fauna across all four seasons.

Artist Alice Barton Roche, who currently designs for H&M and others has collaborated with our delivery partners Sing London on some of their most memorable public space projects, including our very own Wonderpass. She used inspiration gathered by the Sketch and Chat workshops to design the mural including advice on flowers, colours and other elements.

If you’d like to know more about the mural, please contact info@bakerstreetq.co.uk.

This public artwork is a collaborative project with partners The Portman Estate and Baker Street Quarter Partnership and is part funded through Westminster City Council’s Open Spaces, Greener Places grant.
