The Making Of Our Make It Marylebone Film

We were thrilled to work with recent graduates from the University of Westminster on our Make It Marylebone film, launched last week, which celebrates all we have to offer in the Quarter and to inspire you – whatever you decide to do – to ‘make it Marylebone’!

After an interview process over the summer, we appointed final year University of Westminster student Shail Vasa and his team via the Westminster Enterprise Network. WeNetwork is the University of Westminster’s entrepreneurial community, supporting students and recent graduates to work with businesses, develop entrepreneurial skills, go freelance or found start-ups.

Shail and his team impressed us from the start with a fully formed idea for the film, allowing us to progress quickly onto the logistics of the project and contacting businesses for filming permissions. After planning our shoot day schedule, and after Shail and his team made several trips to the area to plan their shots, filming commenced over the space of a week.

The final film can be seen here. The film forms part of our recovery strategy for the Quarter and is aimed at not only reminding those who know the area well of the variety here but also to showcase the area to new visitors. Our aim was to celebrate everything the Quarter, our part of Marylebone, has to offer and to remind our audience of some of the places they love and may have missed over the last 18 months. We think they nailed the brief!

If you’ve been inspired to work with University of Westminster students on a project of your own, you can find out more about WeNetwork here or search for talent and post your job on the Talent Hub app. WeNetwork has also recently launched the Passion & Hustle Podcast, where they speak with a range of successful entrepreneurs, self-driven freelancers and motivated individuals.
