The Wallace Collection At 120

As the Wallace Collection celebrates its 120th anniversary of public opening, director, Dr Xavier Bray explores how the Collection transformed from one of the most enviable private collections in the world into a public collection, and how it was hailed by contemporaries as the greatest gift ever made to the British nation.

Find out, too, how Sir Richard Wallace, as a collector and philanthropist, saw it as his mission to look after the collection he inherited, enhancing and maintaining it with the ultimate aim of bequeathing it to the public.

The talk will take place on 25 June at 3pm BST, and registration is open now.

No need to wait for the Wallace Collection to reopen, you can enjoy its fabulously curated exhibitions, blog and much more with Wallace from Home.
