Volunteer Befrienders Needed

A lifeline for local older residents is seeking your support.

Many of Age UK – Westminster’s older residents live with chronic health conditions and are reliant on volunteers, not just for food but for company. That’s where you come in. With Age UK – Westminster you can make a difference to an older person in the local area by having a friendly chat over the phone, which is a great way to help if you working from home for part of your working week.

For inspiration on further ways you can help, local companies and organisations in the wider area have supported the charity with funds, food and equipment. With Waitrose Edgware Road making huge monthly donations of food products, St. John’s Church in Hyde Park Crescent has donated space for the to use as a food hub for sorting out items prior to distribution. Donations included laptops, mobile phones and computers. Whilst other companies have provide instructors to teach people how to use them.
