Waterloo & City Line

We were pleased to hear that the Waterloo & City line will return to a full weekday service from Monday 22 November.

The line was closed in March 2020 in response to the Government’s advice to work from home; as a link predominantly used by commuters, demand dropped significantly during the first lockdown. Peak weekday services were reintroduced in June 2021 to support those returning to the office, but from 22 November the line will be open from 6:00 to 00:30 at night. At peak times, between 06:30 and 09:30 and between 16:00 and 19:00, it will run every three minutes, and at off-peak times it will run every five minutes.

Ridership on the Tube is now regularly at over 60% across the network on weekdays compared to pre-Covid times, and we hope the full weekday return of the Waterloo & City line helps those of you travelling into the office with your journeys.
