Together We’re Supporting The Quarter’s Community Spirit
It’s often the case that difficult situations bring out the very best in people and we’ve already seen this in our Quarter as many of you reach out to help the most vulnerable within our community.
This importance of the community we so value in the Quarter is even more apparent now as we work to support and care for each other in these unprecedented times.
Our Smarter Giving Manager, Kate, is working hard to direct help to where it’s needed most. And, as needs change, which they inevitably will, we’ll let you know where and when you can assist.
Support for our local retailers, restaurants, hotels and pubs is also vital at this time – we all want them to be there for us to appreciate and enjoy in the future. We are working with them to understand what services they can still provide and exploring how best we can promote them to our audiences.
Looking after the whole community also means supporting all those who are finding themselves working from home. Even for those of you who already sometimes work from home, the current situation is an unprecedented challenge. Over the next coming weeks we will be providing invaluable advice, tips and activities to help you all with your mental and physical health. Online wellbeing courses, such as yoga, fitness workouts, managing anxiety workshops, mental health, stress and mindfulness sessions, will all be made available to you through our Social & Wellbeing programme. Some of which are available now.
Our Street Team is playing a vital role keeping a watchful and friendly eye on the Quarter’s streets and premises. We are working closely with the Police and authorities to assist the most vulnerable on the streets and to deter and tackle anti-social behaviour. If you are coming into work and spot them please give them a wave.
These really are unprecedented times and the situation is changing daily. As we focus our energies on supporting and maintaining the whole of our community and keeping its spirit active, do stay in touch with us and watch out for our communications. We will be posting regularly on our social media channels updates and links to activities and news from our Quarter.
