World Bicycle Day 3 June

It’s World Bicycle Day on Friday 3 June, reminding us of the many benefits offered by cycling. It’s a healthy and cost-effective activity, a sustainable choice of transport, and provides access to work and education for people across the world.

To mark the day we’ve set out some ways you can get involved and make cycling an enjoyable part of your working life and leisure time.

How to get involved

Perhaps take your bike out for a spin on the day or cycle to work during the week. Find your own special route by visiting the Transport for London website, and find all you need to know about hiring a Santander bike.

Westminster City Council website has some great information on cycling within the borough, including free city cycle courses, and a cycling toolkit to help you get started.

Check your bike at a local bike maintenance event.

Find out about charities that donate bikes to those in need. For example The Bike Project or Bike for Good.
