Young Westminster Foundation Launches Helping Hands Programme And Film

Young Westminster Foundation has announced a new community programme and grants initiative called Helping Hands, working to address youth violence in Westminster. The Helping Hands initiative is a one-year pilot by the Violence Reduction Unit and BBC Children in Need and focuses on three estates in North Westminster. The Foundation is looking for additional financial support from businesses or individuals, to continue the programme and reach as many young people as possible.

Young Westminster Foundation is a cross-sector charity which brings together businesses and public sector partners to support local youth clubs and organisations, helping young people growing up in the borough. The Helping Hands programme will include targeted youth work and helping communities create innovative opportunities. The issue of youth violence is one which impacts young people, the community and wider society.

To support the programme and fundraising campaign, a new film has been created. This shows how the Helping Hands Programme aims to create interventions led by the voices of young people and community members, who have been directly and indirectly affected by the issue.
