Mental Health First Aid Training
7 - 9 December part online teaching and self led learning
The Mental Health First Aider course has been designed to train you to support people who are experiencing mental health issues as well as try to prevent, or help during a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid training gives you structure and strategies to utilise if you encounter someone who experiences depression, distress, psychosis, and other psychological conditions. After the course you will be able to better identify symptoms including depression, anxiety, suicidal behavior, eating disorders, self- harm and psychosis. You will be able to react in a supportive way, ask the right questions, with a view to de-escalating the situation. It is a very handy ‘toolkit’ to have.
The course itself is interesting and interactive. The delegates participate in various role play scenarios and case studies. This course is delivered by MHFA England and a certificate will be issued on completion.

SAVE THE DATE: Major Incident Tabletop Workshop - Counter Terrorism Training
Wednesday 3 February 2021 9.00-12.30
Best Practice in Responding to and Recovering from a Major Incident
Following on from last year’s successful Tabletop exercise, we are pleased to offer an event to continue our work to increase resilience in the area. This event will allow you review your response to a large-scale incident and examine the extent to which your current plans address the actions required to support a return to normality. Based on a hypothetical scenario in the local area and incorporating a practical demonstration of the BakerStreetQ Incident Alerts platform, the session will consider the requirements of individual businesses as well as how the recovery needs of the wider area might be addressed.
We recommend those in charge of crisis management and/or business continuity including building, facilities and security management roles should attend this workshop.
