Mental Health First Aid Course
Tuesday - Thursday 15 - 17 June
This online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
This course is delivered online and is made up of individual learning activities and a series of four live instructor-led sessions. Individual learning will be based on a combination of videos, workbook activities and reading. This can be completed at your own pace in advance of each live session. The live sessions are led by an approved MHFA England Instructor and are interactive, involving presentation of slides, video clips, activities, discussion and case studies, which you will explore as a group to embed learning. - Before the live sessions begin you will need to do some set up online and some pre learning which will take 1 hour
- Live session 1: 9:00am – 11.30am Tuesday 15 June 2021 + 2 hour home learning
- Live session 2: 9:00am – 11.30am Wednesday 16 June 2021 + 2 hour home learning

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Work Station Assessment Training

Employers have a legal obligation to carry out DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessments with employees using display screens. As well as employers meeting their legal obligations, conducting DSE assessments can reduce discomfort, improve wellbeing and increase productivity of staff.
This is a virtual one day training course for line managers, newly-appointed or recently- appointed Workstation Assessors. No previous knowledge or experience is required, however delegates would benefit from having an understanding of their organisation’s existing DSE assessment process. The course will comprise of an overview of the legislation, and techniques and procedures required to conduct a DSE Assessment.

With extensive experience of working with organisations of all sizes Sophie Cook provides mental health and diversity and inclusion advice that helps businesses to work more effectively and be more cohesive through the power of shared experience and recognising the things that we have in common rather than those which divide us.
RAF veteran, writer, speaker, broadcaster, photographer, self harm and suicide survivor… and transgender. Dr Sophie Cook FRSA became the first transgender woman to work in football’s Premier League as club photographer for AFC Bournemouth following her transition from Steve to Sophie in the summer of 2015.
Sophie is an in-demand public speaker, delivering keynote talks internationally including a TEDx Talk on change, fear, vulnerability, diversity, mental health and LGBTQ+ workshops for high profile organisations such as JP Morgan, Virgin Media, Asda and Stonewall.
Sophie was presented with the Outstanding Contribution to LGBT+ Life Award at the 2020 British LGBT Awards.
Workplace Safety During Covid-19
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust has been awarded a grant by the City Bridge Trust to provide free of charge, Personal Safety awareness sessions to keyworkers across London.
This is in response to the significant increase in aggressive and violent behaviours experienced by keyworkers, across all sectors, particularly since the pandemic began in 2020.
The webinars will run until the end of June 2021 and are approximately 30 minutes’ long, with an additional 10 minutes at the end for Q&A, if delegates wish to stay. The objective of the sessions is to provide useful knowledge and tools that keyworkers can use to dynamically assess then mitigate, manage or reduce aggressive and violent behaviours, as they carry out their day-to-day duties.

Free 12 Week Course: Improving Workplace Cyber Security
We are working with the Police Security Digital Centre (PDSC) in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police to deliver a free 12-week course supporting your business to enhance it’s cyber security. Addressing this issue during the current context would be beneficial to any company as so many of us are working from home.
Subjects include: Working from home, backup data, managing breach, app, websites and social media, software updates and more.

ACT Awareness e-Learning Guidance
The insight gained from this interactive ACT Awareness e-Learning course will benefit all employees, and would ideally be used as part of a new employee staff induction. Starting with an introduction to terrorism, the course then covers guidance to help employees identify and respond to security vulnerabilities, suspicious behaviour, bomb threats and weapons attack. See, Check and Notify (SCaN) Counter Terrorism Workshops
This brand new suite of workshops delivered by the National Counter Terrorism Police aims to help businesses maximise safety and security by using their existing resources.
Customer Facing – A three hour interactive for staff who have face to face contact with customers, the public and site users. It covers suspicious activity, the importance of vigilance, the power of hello and how to report your concerns. This workshop is aimed at businesses and venues with dedicated security teams and customer services personnel.
Decision Maker – A 30 minute high level briefing that provides decision makers (Executive level) with the necessary information to decide whether or not they wish to implement the programme and identify who will lead any roll-out. This session is aimed at management with the responsibility to implement the adoption of SCaN.
CCTV – A two hour session that provides CCTV operators an advanced awareness of Hostile Reconnaissance and where it is likely to take place. This workshop is aimed at sites with a 24/7 monitored CCTV system.
Security Managers – An ongoing mentoring programme that aims to empower the security manager to target harden their site against hostile reconnaissance.
Comms Professionals – A half day workshop to enable communications professionals to deliver security minded deterrence communications at their site.
All Staff – A 30 minute briefing to all staff to raise awareness of what hostile reconnaissance is and how it can be deterred and to encourage suspicious activity to be reported.

IOSH Managing Safely, Date TBC
This three day course is an essential qualification to give supervisors, managers and heads of department the knowledge they need to effectively manage health and safety in the workplace. The hands on, jargon-free format will engage and improve company-wide safety awareness and appreciation for safety measures.
Delivered by the British Safety Council, accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). No pre-requisites or prior health and safety knowledge is required. On completion you’ll be awarded an IOSH Managing safely certificate. This course is offered for FREE as part of your membership and will save your business £595 per person. Limited to three places per company.
