We make training easy by offering you a range of courses that take place right here in the Quarter. What’s more they are absolutely free for all of our members.

We’ve teamed up with the best in the industry to deliver quality interactive workshops and certified courses that are relative, informative and enjoyable. Attendees will be equipped with invaluable skills and knowledge whilst having the opportunity to share practical advice and network with neighbouring businesses.     See, Check and Notify (SCaN) Counter Terrorism Workshops

    This brand new suite of workshops delivered by the National Counter Terrorism Police aims to help businesses maximise safety and security by using their existing resources.

    Workshop 1:

    Customer Facing, Wednesday 4 Dec 09:00

    A three hour interactive for staff who have face-to-face contact with customers, the public and site users. The workshop covers suspicious activity, the importance of vigilance, the power of hello and how to report your concerns.

    This workshop is aimed at businesses and venues with dedicated security teams and customer services personnel. Please email the contact name and email address of any colleagues who wish to attend this workshop to [email protected]

    Other workshops in the suite are:

    Decision Maker – A 30 minute high level briefing that provides decision makers (Executive level) with the necessary information to decide whether or not they wish to implement the programme and identify who will lead any roll-out. This session is aimed at management with the responsibility to implement the adoption of SCaN.

    CCTV – A two hour session that provides CCTV operators an advanced awareness of Hostile Reconnaissance and where it is likely to take place. This workshop is aimed at sites with a 24/7 monitored CCTV system.

    Security Managers – An ongoing mentoring programme that aims to empower the security manager to target harden their site against hostile  reconnaissance.

    Comms Professionals – A half day workshop to enable communications professionals to deliver security minded deterrence communications at their site.

    All Staff – A 30 minute briefing to all staff to raise awareness of what hostile reconnaissance is and how it can be deterred and to encourage suspicious activity to be reported.

  • ACT Awareness e-Learning Guidance

    ACT Awareness e-Learning Guidance

    The insight gained from this interactive ACT Awareness e-Learning course will benefit all employees – old and new – but is especially suited to new employees and, ideally, used as part of your company induction process. Starting with an introduction to terrorism, the counter terrorism guidance given within this 45-minute interactive course swiftly moves on to help employees identify and respond to security vulnerabilities and suspicious behaviour, as well as helping identify and deal with suspicious packages and behaviour.     Developed by MHFA England, this one-day course qualifies you as a mental health first aid champion. You will gain an understanding of common mental health illnesses, be given the confidence to promote mental health awareness and the ability to spot signs of mental ill health. This course is suitable for those who want to gain a greater awareness of workplace mental health, to detect early symptoms of common mental health illnesses and gain the skills to support your own and others’ positive well-being.
