Mental Health First Aid Training - Online
Tuesday 5 - Thursday 7 October
This online course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you:
- An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
This course is delivered online and is made up of individual learning activities and a series of four live instructor-led sessions. Individual learning will be based on a combination of videos, workbook activities and reading. This can be completed at your own pace in advance of each live session. The live sessions are led by an approved MHFA England Instructor and are interactive, involving presentation of slides, video clips, activities, discussion and case studies, which you will explore as a group to embed learning. - Before the live sessions begin you will need to do some set up online and some pre learning which will take 1 hour
- Live session 1: 9:00am – 11.30am Tuesday 5 October 2021 + 2 hour home learning

Emergency First Aid - In person in Marylebone
Thursday 23 September, 09.00 - 16.30 (FULLY BOOKED) and Monday 11 October, 09.00 - 16.30
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid. It is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments, such as small offices. The course covers first aid protocols for adult casualties only.
This course provides basic life saving first aid skills and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations. Assessment will be made through observation by the trainer and written assessments. Successful candidates receive a St John Ambulance certificate, valid for three years.

SCaN Counter Terrorism Advice for Communications Professionals - Virtual

This 75-minute session for communications professionals is designed to raise awareness of how communications can be used to deter terrorist and criminal activity, and how security-minded communications can help protect your organisation.
Delivered by counter terrorism professionals from the Metropolitan Police, the session will develop participants’ understanding of hostile reconnaissance and security-minded and deterrence communications. It also considers internal communications and how to respond to suspicious activity.
HomelessWise Training with St Mungos and BakerStreetQ Street Team - Virtual

We’ve teamed up with St Mungo’s HomelessWise service to provide specialist homelessness training, support and guidance for our business community. Businesses have told us that they want to help but need expert guidance to help them approach this sensitive issue. This training will empower your staff to make informed decisions and practically respond to instances of street homelessness. i.e what to do if they see someone sleeping in a doorway near their workplace. This training will be delivered in collaboration with our Street Team for members to learn more about how they work and what you can do to support rough sleepers in the Quarter.
Fire Marshal Training - Virtual

This half day (3 hours) Fire marshal training courses is delivered by a professional firefighter. You will learn basic fire safety procedures in the workplace and how to ensure your organisation is compliant with the law. It is a legal requirement to ensure you have an adequate number of staff trained to handle the safe and successful evacuation in the case of a fire emergency.

Carbon Literacy Training - Virtual

Completion of this course will certify participants as ‘Carbon Literate’ (an internationally recognised qualification, recognised at COP21 in Paris).
This course will deliver: ‘An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.’ (CLP, Manchester)
- Some of the science behind the slogans (what IS a greenhouse gas, and how many are there???)
- Understanding jargon, metrics & targets (when is it tonnes, or temperature?)
- Frameworks for prioritising, assessing, and communicating action to minimise global heating
- Follow-up materials with more context, data sources, videos and links remain available to all learners in a stand-alone resource
Part 1 consists of 90 mins. ‘non-synch’: an interactive resource to work through at your own pace, including some science basics and quizzes. This lays the foundations for Part 2, when you’ll work with the trainer as a group, ‘in synch’. In a similar way, Part 3 (solo) leads into Part 4 (group).
Please note – approx. 90 minutes of pre-reading will be required before attendance on 16 November. Additional independent work needed before second session on 23 November, followed by certification.

ACT Awareness e-Learning Guidance
The insight gained from this interactive ACT Awareness e-Learning course will benefit all employees, and would ideally be used as part of a new employee staff induction. Starting with an introduction to terrorism, the course then covers guidance to help employees identify and respond to security vulnerabilities, suspicious behaviour, bomb threats and weapons attack. See, Check and Notify (SCaN) Counter Terrorism Workshops
This brand new suite of workshops delivered by the National Counter Terrorism Police aims to help businesses maximise safety and security by using their existing resources.
Customer Facing – A three hour interactive for staff who have face to face contact with customers, the public and site users. It covers suspicious activity, the importance of vigilance, the power of hello and how to report your concerns. This workshop is aimed at businesses and venues with dedicated security teams and customer services personnel.
Decision Maker – A 30 minute high level briefing that provides decision makers (Executive level) with the necessary information to decide whether or not they wish to implement the programme and identify who will lead any roll-out. This session is aimed at management with the responsibility to implement the adoption of SCaN.
CCTV – A two hour session that provides CCTV operators an advanced awareness of Hostile Reconnaissance and where it is likely to take place. This workshop is aimed at sites with a 24/7 monitored CCTV system.
Security Managers – An ongoing mentoring programme that aims to empower the security manager to target harden their site against hostile reconnaissance.
Comms Professionals – A half day workshop to enable communications professionals to deliver security minded deterrence communications at their site.
All Staff – A 30 minute briefing to all staff to raise awareness of what hostile reconnaissance is and how it can be deterred and to encourage suspicious activity to be reported.

IOSH Managing Safely, Date TBC
This three day course is an essential qualification to give supervisors, managers and heads of department the knowledge they need to effectively manage health and safety in the workplace. The hands on, jargon-free format will engage and improve company-wide safety awareness and appreciation for safety measures.
Delivered by the British Safety Council, accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). No pre-requisites or prior health and safety knowledge is required. On completion you’ll be awarded an IOSH Managing safely certificate. This course is offered for FREE as part of your membership and will save your business £595 per person. Limited to three places per company.
